Benjamin Woodmansee is a Lead Product Designer based in London, working across interdisciplinary AI design and research projects in technology.

He has a traditional design education, with a B.F.A in Fine Art from University of Southampton and an M.F.A from University of Oxford, where he received the Erna Plachte Scholarship in 2016.

After spending a number of years consulting and designing emerging technology projects at design agencies and a tech startup, he moved to IBM. He is currently Design Lead in AI Incubation, building the future of AI agents and creating new interaction paradigms. Previously he worked at IBM Client Engineering as a Senior Product Designer, leading complex, technical AI projects with teams of AI engineers, data scientists, researchers, solution architects and software developers. The IBM Client Engineering watsonx team boasts the largest worldwide team of AI engineers, creating robust solutions to clients' most pressing business pain-points using foundation models and generative AI.

Outside of his full-time role, he's an avid fiction writer, as well as writing on history of science, technology and AI. He's also an electronic musician, writing several albums which are on vinyl and spotify.
